Elegant Cards

Some Elegant cards in colors for Fall.

Lacy, Layered Cards

I bought a big box of lace at a garage sale this summer for about 2 dollars. I have been running the lace through my sticker machine and adhering it to cards that way. I works really well, especially on very thin trims. Some of the lace was pre gathered, but I just snipped off the binding. These cards are the 3.5 by 5 inch size card, I love this size.

Fun Cards

Just some fun, simple cards.

Baby Cards

I was really happy with how these turned out. They are super simple. Again, the bookplates were a really great embellishment.

More Mix-n-Match

Same idea as before. I did make more of the middle one, but this is the best one of the lot. I really love the bookplates on these cards. I will definitly buy more of these when I see them on sale again!

Mix-n-Match Cards

I tried to do a bunch of cards that were similar, same group of papers, same shapes, but with different embellishments. These were really fun to do!

Blue Cards

Here is another attempt at some masculine cards.

Yellow and Black

I had a bunch of frog closures that I just dug out of my emellishment drawer. I like the fresh feeling of the black on yellow.

Happy Mother's Day!

These are the mother's day cards that I made for my mom and Alan's mom. I can post them because they have already recieved them. These were so fun to make. I love working with different shapes. These are just an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock folded in half.

Ribbons and Tags

I was trying to use some of my ribbon that I never seem to use. I just recently made a ribbon rack that I can hang up. Now I can see all my ribbon and it is easy to just cut off what you need. My ribbon drawer was just a mess!
Another dollar store flower. The tag in the middle is from Office Max with some paper mounted on it. My Creative Memories circle cutter cuts circles the perfect size for the silver rimmed tags.

Three Bags

Bekah's Bag. I lined this one with a floral fabric. There are pockets on the inside, a big one and one for pencils and smaller things.
My favorite one. I'm going to use this for my craft stuff when I have to go somewhere.
This one is for my Activity Days stuff. The floral print is from a scarf I bought at Goodwill! I made the handles a little longer on my two bags and added some pockets on the inside. once I got going these bags were easy.

More Silver!

These were fun to make. I made a template out of chipboard for the tag shaped cards. It is so fun to work with a different shape!

Wedding Cards

I LOVE the LOVE card. It is silver textured paper and silver chipboard letters and details, tied with a silver cord, of course! The other one has some silver chipboard detailing on it as well along with raised pearl stickers that I found at the dollar store. Can you tell I have a can of silver spray paint I'm trying to use up?!

Flower Power

I don't know why I never thought of this before. I bought some cheap silk flowers at the dollar store and pulled them apart to put on cards. You can get a lot of flowers for not a lot of money this way. There were even some flowers there that had a velvety coating on them, they looked pretty good, I wish I had gotten some more of those now.

The paper crafting continues...

I made these this winter and am just now getting them posted. I have been making cards a lot lately. It is such a rewarding creative release for me. I need it. It is so great to actually finish a few projects. There is a sense of satisfaction that comes from finishing a project.
I just love the card with the four scraps of paper and the heart. This one just fell together and worked. I love it when that happens. Thank you Jen for introducing me to cardmaking!

Tie

I finally got back to sewing! I made the ties I had posted about earlier. They were pretty easy. Now that I've done it once I feel confident that I will do it again when I find fabric that I really like. I did change a few construction aspects of the pattern, but overall it went well and I finally learned how to tie a tie!

More Cards

These cards were fun to do! I love the paper, I got it at hobby lobby. I have a hinge die that ebosses and cuts at the same time, I had never used it before. I love it now, it adds something special to the cards.
This card was pre embossed with a window design. I added some black ink to highlight this detail. Then just added the circles and tied a ribbon around the center.

Projects

I'm working on some sewing projects right now. I just finished a new dog bed. Basically a big pillow case so it was done pretty fast. It was high time fo a replacement. The bed is a hunter green.

I'm also going to sew some ties for my boys. I just got a pattern for vests and ties. I haven't found the "perfect" fabric yet, but I'm going to try the pattern on some dollar a yard fabric. How hard could it be to make a tie? I guess I'll soon see. This means I'll actually have to learn to tie a tie!

I am also going to make some bags. I'm making a bag for Bekah and probably one for me too. I just got a pattern for this too. I didn't find the fabric I wanted for this either. Guess I get to do some more shopping!

I also got a pattern for scrubs for Alan. This should be a little more of a project that will take some time. But if I can get this right it could save us a little money. I was amazed at how much scrubs were! If you know where to get them cheap, let me know.

Masculine cards

I am always trying to come up with good masculine cards. It is hard sometimes, I always want to add flowers to everything. So here is yet another attempt at manly cards. You can't go wrong with argyle, can you?

Spring Cards

On the card with the cirlces I used up some scraps. It may be hard to see, but I stitched over the circles. On the second card I used my new xyron 250 machine to adhere the ribbon. That machine is a great little tool! The Tulip die is cut from a foil wrapper off of a baby food container(Yes, I saved them all the time that Sam was eating baby food). I love to reuse things on my cards. I feel so thrifty!

Green Cards

Here are some more cards. The middle card has a patch on it from a sweater I bought in the men's department. I didn't like the patch on the sleeve so I took it off, but couldn't throw it away! It made a nice masculine card, which is usually hard for me. The card on the left features one of my favorite garage sale finds. It is a strip of braided grass from an old placemat.

Retro Baby Cards

I was really happy with these cards, different from the traditional colors of baby cards. The little rattles and safety pin were found at the Dollar store and I got tons in a package, all different colors. The tags were purchased at the Dollar Store also, quite a while ago now.

Black and White

I've been having fun with black and white lately. I bought a pad of paper that was all black and white. I love to use them and then add a little color.

more cards!

Here are some more cards. All the same floral print paper and coordinating solids. I love to sand the edges of the textured cardstock. Enjoy!

Black and White Quilt

Here it is all pieced and partly quilted. This all happened in about 24 hours. Yes, I get obsessed with these things.
I choose some fabric and started to measure out where I wanted it on the floor. The fabric with big white flowers I got at the Salvation Army for 50 cents. I just love it.
Tuesday I decided to make a Quilt to go over my bed. The colors are black and white in our bedroom. I still had leftover fabric from the curtains and pillows so I thought I'd make a quilt with those leftover scraps. These are the first sketches (I hardly ever use a pattern).

Baby Cards

These are my latest baby cards. My favorite one is the onesie. I got the pattern off of a card someone had sent to me. I cut the onesie out of felt and detail stitched the arms, neck, and legs. The stitching really makes it cute and look "finished". I then added a fuzzy star to match the background paper.
The hand card is simply a die cut hand mounted on a tag with added ribbon and mounted onto a card.
The middle card is inspired by a card in the stampin' up catalog. Simply different style letters to spell "baby" on a card with the second B framed with a bookplate die. This card took some time, but I really like the results.

Valentine's Day Cards

A close up shows my favorite thing about this card, the paper clip with beads on it. I saw this idea on a web site and thought it was really cute (not to mention easy and cheap!).
The stamps that I used on these cards were in the dollar bin at Target (4 in a package). I just love them and they are pretty good quality for $1. I will be posting more cards soon!
